Fontvieille

Fontvieille is the newest area of the Principality of Monaco and was literally created from land reclaimed from the sea. This man-made waterfront area features a harbor, stadium and sports complex, heliport, and a pollution-free industrial zone, as well as some shopping areas and the new Columbus Monaco hotel.

Stade Louis II

The district contains Stade Louis II, which serves as the home ground of AS Monaco FC, a Monaco football club that is one of the most successful in the French National League; the stadium also contains the club's offices. The ground also hosts the European Super Cup, an annual event pitting the winners of the top UEFA club competitions, the Champions League and UEFA Cup.

Exhibition Classic Cars

Also in Fontvieille you can go and see the exhibition of the late H.S.H. Prince of Monaco's Private Collection of Classic Cars; a display of nearly 100 antique cars collected by Prince Rainier III.

Fontvieille Park

This magnificent park covers an area of nearly 4 hectares and contains a multitude of green plants and shrubs from all over the world, planted around a charming little fresh-water pond inhabited by ducks and swans.

Princess Grace Rose Garden

On a nearby slope to the Fontvieille Park is the Princess Grace Rose Garden, opened on June 18, 1984 by the Sovereign Prince and his family. The garden is an extraordinary collection of roses, beautifully displayed along a network of intersecting walkways.

It is a quiet spot fragrant with the scent of some 4,000 rose trees, more than 150 varieties, some of which are the work of leading European and American specialists.

Naval Museum

Opened in October 1993, the Naval Museum, displays a collection of models of ships and items marking the history of navies from all countries throughout the ages. Many items come from the private collections of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III.
